Riiko’s FFXIV Eorzea Café Reservation Guide and how to use Loppi machines at Lawson (outdated)

January 2023: ATTENTION! This guide is outdated! It is for the old system through Lawson. The new system is rather self-explanatory, so my guide isn’t needed anymore. :( You can reserve here while using the translation function of your browser:
https://www.pasela.co.jp/paselabo_shop/ff_eorzea/reserve/

You would like to go to Eorzea Café but don’t know how? You don’t wanna go there in the morning and chance it to get a free table on the same day for just a maybe?

Do not fear anymore, Riiko has the solution for you:

Riiko’s FFXIV Eorzea Café Reservation Guide and how to use Loppi machines at Lawson

My guide will cover the necessary steps to visit Eorzea Café.

Status November 2018: For the Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo, you always need to reserve a table. In Osaka during working days (Mon-Fri) you can just come in during opening hours without reservation. You only need to reserve on weekends and public holidays. Please check the website since this might change.

Quick Guide

  • Reserve ticket online
  • Go to Lawson (supermarket) and pick up reservation from Loppi machine, then get ticket from counter
  • Go to Eorzea Café 15 min prior to time slot
  • Enjoy Eorzea Café

What you need to reserve a ticket

  • credit card (to allow picking up ticket until day of cafe visit)
  • email address
  • a japanese phone number (for example from your hotel)

How to reserve a ticket

Go to the website https://l-tike.com/ and enter “エオルゼアカフェ” (Eorzea Café) in the search field. If you are unsure what the website says, use Google translate. It is surprisingly good :)

It will forward you to this page: https://l-tike.com/search/?keyword=エオルゼアカフェ

Now you see the following overview. I removed the menus from the website in my screenshots. Click on any screenshot for a larger version.

Yellow marked: Tokyo
Blue marked: Osaka
Green marked: Dates for which you can reserve (year/month/day)

Select the city and time frame in which you want to reserve and click the pink button on the right side.

On the next page scroll down a bit to skip the text and you will get to the calendar. Here you can see which dates and time slots still have free tables – or not.

Click on the time slot that you want to reserve.

The following pop up will appear:

If the button on the right side is pink, on this day and time slot the corresponding table for the number of persons is available. If it is grey, all tables of this type are booked out. Try a different day or time slot.

Click the pink button to add a table for x persons to your cart.

The popup will disappear. Instead you can find this at the right side of your screen:

Now select the number of times you want to book this table for x persons. I selected “1 table for 2 persons” one time.

When done, click on the pink button.

You will be forwarded to the login page. Here you can log in if you have an account or chose to register an account.

I recommend to not register an account and continue without registration! For this select the very bottom right button.

Next, you have to enter your email address twice and a Japanese phone number.

The phone number is only accepted if you do not enter the country code. Please refer to the example number. I used the phone number of the hotel. Make sure to write down the number as you need it to pick up your tickets at Lawson store.

Make sure that the telephone number is of the format that’s sampled below the field. For example:
Not accepted: +81-031-1234-1234
Accepted: 03112341234

Shio commented for an update on the telephone number: “I was able to use my US phone number (i.e. 1-123-123-1234) by leaving out the dashes”

Click again on the pink button to continue.

What’s new is that you will be asked to drag and drop the specified item to the right side as so:

Just copy the brightly pink marked expression to google translate if you can’t read it. Here, it says “orenji” = orange, so drag and drop the orange into the right field and click the pink button.

You will be forwarded to a very long page.

At the top part you can again confirm you booking details.

Scroll down a bit and you can select the payment type.

I recommend to use credit card as you can pick up the tickets up to the day of the reservation itself – but only until about 3h before the time slot, from what I understood. To be on the safe side, pick up the ticket latest the day before the time slow you booked.

If you use cash payment, you have to pay at the Lawson store when you pick up the tickets. The tickets are only reserved for 3-4 days. Please check in detail until when you can pick them up when reserving. This would make sense if you are already in Japan. You can then directly pay at the counter of the Lawson store.

Update April 2018: Many people have encountered issues with credit cards. It seems some credit cards are no longer accepted for use. It’s not entirely clear which ones work and which not. However, a user confirmed that American Express worked for them. For more info about the discussion on reddit, check here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/88xh4u/problem_with_eorzea_cafe_booking_through_lawson/

After filling out your credit card details, scroll down.

Here you need to chose a password in order to access the confirmation of the registration online later on. Do not worry, you also get an email confirmation with your registration number.

Clicking on the pink button will finalize the purchase.

I do not have a screenshot of the next page but if you did everything correct, it will say that you successfully reserved and list all details again. You will also receive it via email.

The email will contain a lot of text. Scroll down until you find something looking like this:

Please note: Where I wrote about Loppi pickup, it actually tells you about the phone number that you used during reservation process. Don’t forget it to write it down and bring with you!

Checklist: What should I bring to the Lawson store?

  • registration number (from email)
  • phone number used in the reservation
  • password
  • your name in katakana
  • or the QR code (enters all of above information directly)

In the email you received there is also a guide on how to pick up the tickets from the Lawson store Loppi machine. It’s in Japanese of course.

Spatzist commented on QR Code topic (21.11.2017): “They have a QR code system now that makes this much easier. I’m not sure if you need to be registered (I was), but my reservation confirmation contained a link to a page with a QR code. The link/url can be found on the website under
>my reservation confirmation
to  >my reservation confirmation email
Scanning the code into the loppi machine using my phone automatically filled out every piece of information save the phone number, making the process very easy.”

Guy commented on QR Code topic (14.01.2018) that the QR system is great, highly recommended and linked a guide how to use the Loppi machine with screen explanations and everything:
https://toraonice.tumblr.com/post/163370264155/could-you-tell-me-how-to-purchase-tickets-through

Anonymous commented on QR Code topic: (22.05.2018): “I can confirm it does work. There is a button on the main screen of the Loppi machine for QR codes. I didn’t have an account but used the QR code I recieved in the email. Only thing I had to enter was the phone number I used when ordering. I used my German number with the country code or dashes.”

How to pick up your ticket in Japan

As I only cover this topic briefly, especially without pictures of thes creen of the pickup machine at Lawson, I would like to recommend to you the following guide: Mimi’s Guide to the Eorzea Café – Reservations
https://transnoteblog.wordpress.com/2019/01/25/mimis-guide-to-the-eorzea-cafe-reservations/

Lawson is a “combini”, a supermarket, that’s basically everywhere and open 24/7. Every Lawson store has a small Loppi machine that is often near the ATM machine. Sometimes it’s hidden away a bit. Don’t be sloppy in searching for it, even if it’s a (s)Loppi machine… (Pun intended)

Select “Lawson Ticket” 「ローソンチケット」 on the screen.

Then select “Pick up Reservation Ticket” 「予約済(当選)チケットの引取り」.

Enter the reservation number 「予約番号入力欄」 and the phone number 「電話番号」.

Then enter your name in Katakana. If you don’t know Katakana, this website can help you: http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/katakana.htm

Make sure to use a blank / space between first and last name. I had trouble finding the blank/space key for it as it was in complicated Kanji. Just try it out or ask the staff. If you registered an account during the reservation process, you do not need to enter your name at the Loppi Machine (from what I experienced).

Please also refer to the QR code option described above. There is a button on the main screen of the Loppi machine for QR codes.

Update 19th Oct 2017: Thanks to pouelman’s comment
There seems to be a button that enables you to enter your name also in Roman (our) letters. It wasn’t obvious which button it was but just try all of them and it might eventually work!

Check out the Loppi Maching pickup/reservation guide that Guy linked in the comments. It includes pictures of the Loppi Machine display and can surely be helpful for you. https://toraonice.tumblr.com/post/163370264155/could-you-tell-me-how-to-purchase-tickets-through

The Loppi machine will print out a receipt for you. Bring it to the counter and they will you the actual tickets.

Bring the tickets with you to Eorzea Café, obviously.

Where is the Eorzea Café (Tokyo)?

The Tokyo Eorzea Café is in a famous quarter called Akihabara. You can reach it best by going to Akihabara station by either subway or JR train. From there, walk a few minutes.

I used to orient myself in the train station by following the exits to Akihabara Electric Town. Then look out for the Gundam Café. From there, just follow the map. Across the street from Eorzea Café is an Animate store (status April 2017). The Café itself is in a building of “Pasela Resort” on 2F. The small red square on the picture is the entrance…

Closeup:

In 2018 they have moved the FFXIV merchandise from 1F (ground floor) to 2F. If you come early in the morning, you might still get M/L sized t-shirts or other items that might sell out quickly. Even if you don’t have a reservation, you can still check out the merchandise.

Hint: The job pins cost 600 Yen + Tax while they cost 9€ in EU. It’s a lot cheaper in Japan :D

Where is the Eorzea Café (Osaka)?

The Osaka Eorzea Café is in a famous street called Dotonbori (marked yellow) with a lot of amazing streetfood that you should definitely try, too.  You can reach Dotonbori through nearby subway stations Namba or Nipponbashi. It is located in the Pasera Resort.

How Eorzea Café works

The Eorzea Café is located on floor 4F in Osaka and 2F in Tokyo. In Tokyo, don’t take the elevator, it doesn’t take you to 2F! The stairs are right next to it.

You will directly see a counter where you should show the staff your ticket. You need to be there at least 15 minutes before your reserved slot, so plan accordingly.

Once it’s time, they will give you an iPad which contains as the menu. If you reserved, the first drink is on the house but you also get no random coaster. For this you have to select one drink per person from a sheet of paper and give it back to them. Upon entering, you can also chose one of the job coasters which contain artworks of each job. You also get a cactpot ticket.

They ask you to wait again in front of the Café door until all customers have received their iPads. Then they will lead everyone to their table.

In Tokyo, you will see the counter when you reach floor 2F and then you will be guided to the cafe itself.

Eorzea Cafe Tokyo is Gridania Styled:

In Osaka, you enter the Cafe before you can see the counter.

The counter is on the right, merchandise on the left.

After an introduction in Japanese, they do the drawing of the cactpot numbers! The 3rd and 2nd place were pins or other small merchandise when I was there. The 1st place is a massive dessert plate in Gold Saucer Style that 2 people will struggle to eat. Nowadays, you can chose if you want to directly eat it or not. If not, you get handed a coupon which you can use on your next visit when you bring other adventurers courageous enough to share the feast with you.

You can order as many food and drinks as you want and as often as you want. Beware as the tables are quite small to not order too much at once. The plates are sometimes quite big even if the food portions are decently sized. The food is prepared and served quite quickly.

The last order can be placed half an hour before the time slot end time. They will make a short announcement for it in Japanese a few minutes before.

With each item you order, you will get a random coaster. Among these coasters there are also job coasters but they do not have the artworks from those at the entrance but in-game screenshots only. My Paissa knows which cards are best. ò.óV

On each table you will find a “place mat” that is actually too beautiful to put food or drinks on. You can take them home with you and use them as posters for your wall, like I did. If you ask the staff nicely, they will even wrap it for you with a rubber band.

They have PCs and a PS4 where you can log into your account. If you would like to do this, bring your security token. One of the PCs has an English client. I didn’t know this at the time. Playing in Japanese was really tough, and I was just trying to do a nice emote to take a photo!

In Tokyo, the gaming stations are in the middle of the room:

In Osaka, the gaming stations are on the left side when you enter the Cafe:

In case many people want to use it (usually it’s not the case as everyone takes pictures or enjoys the food), they ask you to not take too long and let others play, too.

Feel free to take as many pictures as you like. The staff is kind and will take pictures of you if you ask. They are actually all FFXIV players and love the game, so they really put a lot of effort into the cafe, the decoration, the food, drinks and their service.

In Osaka, you will find the famous Spriggan who protects the Cafe. I call it Spriggy but I’m not sure it’s actually him. XD

In the end, you pay at the counter at the entrance. You just need to give them your iPad and they give you the bill. :)

For each item you ordered, you will receive one stamp in a stamp book. They are Grand Company themed so you can chose which one you want. For 18 items you will receive a small pin. There are more rewards for more items ordered, so keep it for a future visit. If you somehow manage to fill your card, you will get one of the beautiful solid job stones! (I didn’t take a closer picture, sorry ;_; )

Thanks for reading!

I hope that the guide helped you to enjoy Eorzea Cafe. If you have any questions, tips or updates, please leave a comment.

Have a great time in Japan! :)

When you reserve with credit card, you can pick up the tickets at Lawson latest on the day where you’re visiting Eorzea Café. If you’re unsure, copy paste the contents of the reservation page to google translate. It’s decently understandable. :)

Is there a limit to the number of people you can book tickets for? We will be a group of 5 when we go in November, would we perhaps book 3 tables of 2 or a 4 and a 2 to be seated together? Hoping to try the Osaka one for the Ul’dah this time around as we have been to Tokyo’s Gridania a couple of times before :) We usually just show up on the day but would love to be able to reserve.

The limit of ticket booking is the available tables on that time slot. Per person who places the reservation, from what I understood, there is no limit.

In the café in Akihabara, their biggest table was for 4 people. I would recommend to reserve a table for 4 and a table for 1 (which is same size as a table for 2). Then, maybe see if you can pull the tables together when you’re at the café. I’m sure the staff will be happy to assist you. If they don’t understand your problem, you can still have split 3 and 2 people. :)

      Hi Tiffany,

The login in the Eorzea Café is exactly the same as when you log in at home. If you have registered a security token to your account, you need it to log in at the café.

      Have a nice trip!

Hi and thankyou for the guide! I only know very little japanese. Do you think it will be ok when we visit? Also, do you plan to go to Square Enix Cafe? I’m hoping to visit both but i’m not sure if i can get square enix’s ticket. they always seem to be fully booked.

      Hello Ein,

      The staff only spoke japanese and very broken english. All explanations were in japanese. But if you have basic knowledge on how the café works and how to order with the ipad, it should be totally fine. :) In case you won the cactpot lottery, it would help to know the numbers in japanese up to 30 or 40 as this is roughly the number of persons who can eat there at once. They will call them out and wait a bit, but draw a new number if nobody says anything after a while. >.<;

I didn't reserve a seat at Square Enix Cafe, only went there to check out the merchandise for which you don't need to reserve a table. So I'm sorry but I can't tell you how to get a ticket for the SE cafe. If you want to try it, I recommend using Google Translate for the site. It's quite okay to understand most things and should help you.

      Enjoy your stay,
      Riiko

      Hello Arc,
Did you pay with credit card? Then I am quite sure you already payed. If you select to pay with cash, then you haven’t payed and probably can just go those tickets you don’t need just go to waste/not pick them up.
I didn’t have this case yet, so I recommend you log into the website and check with google translate if there is any way to cancel. If you payed with credit card, i think you can’t cancel though ;_; Sorry, I never had this case so far. :\ Maybe you could check and ask on reddit if ppl can help you?

If you do find a solution, it would be great to let me know and I will include it in the guide!

        Thank you Riiko,
Yes i paid with credit card. I tried to google translate everything. I created a lawson account to cancel. But my reservation was done without Lawson account (“on the fly”). That’s the main reason, i cant cancel it. if i find a way i’ll give you the tips.

        You should have a link to a “login page” where you can check your reservation. You chose a password when reserving, this is what you can use there. I did find a phone number for contacting them but that probably won’t help as they most likely only speak japansese >.<;
Sorry I can't be of more help atm ;_; Good luck!
Worst case you can enjoy 4 free drinks and 4 free job coasters XD

I did a mail to lawson in japanese (thank you google translate) we’ll see what they will answer in a few days. Because of my mistake i paid 4000 yen instead of 2000 ( But as you said, lets see the positive : i will have Free drinks and goodies xD) I hope my wife and I will be on the same table, that’s the big concern ! Hi Nick,
On the website you can select the time slot you want for the specific day. If you reserved, you have to be there 15 minutes before the slot.

If you didn’t reserve you can rely on the luck that a time slot isn’t fully booked any just come by and ask if a table is available. They still do this. Of course it’s no guarantee to get a table and you also don’t get a coaster with the job artwork or the first free drink.

      Cheers, Riiko

Thank you sooooo very much for you guide! I had problem paying with credit card so I select to pay in the Lawson store. I was so afraid in front of this Loppi machine! Hopefully your instruction was clear! When I get to the Katakana-name section, I press any button to get the Katakana keyboard and BOOM! Roman character! A bit easier that way! (but I really don’t know which button I pressed)

From there I think this is not much different from the credit card payment. You show your voucher and the ask you to pay right now. For people already in japan and who want to reserve during their trip, this payment method is not much of trouble.

So now I have my ticket! I am so gratefull and everybody should! Honestly, from all my resarch on websites, you are the only one that was clear enough to by those ticket from scratch! I might do it again for the Square Enix Cafe!

    Thanks again Riiko!

Interesting that there is also an option for Roman letters somewhere! I will add this to my guide and give you credit for this information of course. :)

I think it was the third one from the top of a set of four vertical buttons on the left side. But as I wasn’t sure what I was doing, I don’t recall perfectly. If I try the experience for the Square Enix Cafe in Osaka I will try to notice which button for the Roman letters! But not much places left already :( But anyway, my first choice was Final Fantasy so, thanks again to you! :D

Hi Riiko! This guide has been super useful.

I’m going to be taking a day-long business trip in Osaka, and was planning to visit the Eorzea cafe there. However, I don’t have a Japanese cell-phone number. Since I am not staying at a hotel, I won’t be able to use theirs either. :(

What is the phone number used for exactly? Will the process to reserve a ticket be similar if I use an American/Chinese number?

If the process revolves around getting a verification text, I was thinking about just going on roaming data for a brief second to receive it.

    Thanks so much!

Thanks for this guide, it was super helpful! I wanted to give you some updates on my purchase experience just now so you can add it if you’d like. I was able to use my US phone number (i.e. 1-123-123-1234) by leaving out the dashes. I also did not have to write down the registration number, you now access your reservation using your email, phone number, and pin password.

I ran into some issues trying to pay online with my credit card. It turns out it was AdBlock. After pausing AdBlock, I was able to complete payment with no issues, so that might be something others will want to watch out for.

    Shio/Riiko,

So if I understand this correctly, you can use register for and use lawson, then pay by credit card, using a US Number +1-###-###-####, without the + or the -‘s. At that point, if it was success, do you receive a confirmation text/Email? Hoping to use Lawson/Loppi for this among some other things :D

      Hi Landu,

You will receive a confirmation email. So far I have not heard of anyone receiving a text/SMS on their mobile phone number. It probably wouldn’t work due to the missing country short code at the start of the phone number if it’s outside Japan.

      Cheers,

Yes, I got a confirmation email! They will also send you an email if you run into credit card issues like I did, and hold your reservation for 24 hours to allow you time to correct this. I did not receive a confirmation via text (probably due to the reasons Riiko listed).

They have a QR code system now that makes this much easier. I’m not sure if you need to be registered (I was), but my reservation confirmation contained a link to a page with a QR code. Scanning the code into the loppi machine using my phone automatically filled out every piece of information save the phone number, making the process very easy.

    Great guide.

Just wanted to add that i found the method of registering a Loppi account and then booking online and using the QR code to collect your tickets from a Lawson made the whole experience much easier (this is the third time i will have been)

Using this method the only thing you have to input is your Phone number.

I can also confirm that if at any point using the machine you need to input your name there is a button to change the alphabet into Roman characters as found in this guide here:

Wife and I live in northern Japan and took a trip to The Tokyo one from 26 -31Dec 2017. They were booked out for a month. We went daily for a week to see if a seat would open and nothing. Closer to the beginning of the year we went there and got in the next day. Seems we got lucky. We are going back in a few months and going to make a reservation this time… I hope.

      Hi Travis,
I hope you have more luck next time you are going there. Usually, they open about a month in advance but then, they open several weeks at once. I’d say if you check regularly, you should find a day and time where you can go. For special celebrative days, it’s often fully booked, but as you said, you can still get lucky with going there directly and see if someone didn’t pick up their reserved ticket etc.

Wish you and your wife a great time at Eorzea Cafe!
      Cheers, Riiko

Riiko, this is an amazing guide! Thank you so much for making it :)

I have a question.. I’m really shy and the other 3 people in the group I’m going to Japan with in April know nothing about FFXIV. I will probably have to go here by myself.. do you think I’ll be okay?

I know a bit of Japanese, took 3 classes worth in college and I can brush up on my skills leading up to the trip :) Just wanting to know if that’s enough.

Maybe I could make friends with travelers while I’m there.. I’m just so nervous about being alone! Hahaha. But I really wanna go here, it’s my favorite game so I feel required to do it :) Hoping for words of encouragement!

Another question: How do you order from a waiter/waitress? Do you hold up your hand and they come to you, or do they just check with you every now and then? Or wait, does the iPad do all the work for you?

    Thank you so much!!

    Hi Nina,

Thanks a lot! I’m happy the guide could help you :)

Please go even without your friends. I’m sure you will love it there. Don’t worry, as you know some basic japanese, you’ll be totally fine. You surely understand the numbers till 20 or 30, so you can raise your hand when the cactpot numbers are called! The waiters are very nice and understanding, too.

When I was there, there were quite some people who came alone. You might be lucky and seated at the bar with others who came alone. That’s a nice opportunity to get into a conversation with them.

You do not need to order at the waiters. Everything is done via the iPad. Just don’t order too much at once as the plates are quite big and the tables are small. XD You can order as often as you want within the time frame and they will anounce when last orders can be placed.

Hope you enjoy the Café, and don’t worry to much, you’ll manaje just fine, I’m sure ò.óV
    Cheers, Riiko

    Hiya,
Thank you for writing this guide – I am hoping to go to the Eorzea and the Square Enix cafe end of March – mid April and I noticed a point about credit card and not picking up till later – how does this work exactly? I am really hoping to try and book something but I fear waiting till a few days before I go to Japan might mean I won’t be able to get tickets.
    Thank you!

      Dear Raika,

If you reserve it with credit card, the latest day you can pick up the reserved ticket is the day of the reservation itself. So reserve as early as possible! :) It will also state a date in the email you receive until which you can pick it up. (If unsure, use google translate ò.ÓV)

      Enjoy the Cafe!

        Dear Raika,

From what I know, the name you enter at the Loppy machine for pickup has to match the name you used for the reservation. So when picking the tickets up you can just use the name used in the reservation, even if it’s not yours. Just to be sure XD

        I haven’t been to SE Café in Toyko yet so I have no experience with the reservation for it. Quickly checking google didn’t help me find a guide for it either… ;_;

        Information including a map:

      Hello,
This means, you have two times a one-person seat. Come a bit earlier to the Eorzea Café and ask the employees to be seated at the same table or at the counter. Usually shouldn’t be a problem as all tables are for 2 people or more. :)

Do you happen to know what causes it? I saw a comment above that said to remove adblock, which I did because there was another error previously but after I removed the Adblock, I get the error above. I’ve tried with a few CCs but I still get this same error.

      Hi Emily,
Since entering the credit card information and clicking on the next button would confirm a reservation purchase, I can’t double-check if there are currently issues with the credit card system. >.<; In case that's the issue, just try again in a few hours, I would say.

I'm sure you have double-checked that the information of your credit card is correct. Maybe the credit card expires before the date of the reserved time slot? Did you make sure it's one of the credit cards that's mentioned in the pictures above the fields where you enter the information (VISA; Master card, etc)? In case it's just a debit card, it might not work (just a guess from my side).

In case you have any script blocker in addition to ad block, please also remove that one.

I'm sorry, I can't help you more with this. So far, I didn't experience any problems with my CC. :(

Hopefully, you can make this work!!

      Cheers, Riiko

I’m a little surprised that your bank can give you a key for the card. usually, the key needed is written directly on the card itself, on the back of it.

Maybe you can see if someone on reddit is able help you. Sorry I’m not much of support here with the issue T_T

Hello, this doesn’t seem right. Your bank PIN is different from the CVV number which is often asked for when purchasing online. You should not have to ask for your PIN to be sent to you, as you don’t need it.

There should be a 3 digit code on the back of your debit/credit card. This is the CVV number, or “security number”. Have you tried using this instead?

Other than that, as Riiko said, there may be an issue with the website and you will have to wait until later.

I just wanted to say that I also encountered the same credit card issue when I tried to make a reservation a few days ago. I tried several different cards and kept getting the same error. I asked some friends in Japan about it and they said that it might be that it’ll only accept Japanese credit cards. We’re not 100% sure if that’s the case, but it’s a possibility.

Hi there. Thanks for making this guide, it was very helpful! However, I was wondering if you could clarify the part about needing your name for picking up your tickets at a Loppi machine? I was encountering issues when I tried paying with credit card (none of my credit cards would work), so one of my friends in Japan offered to go pick up my ticket and pay at the counter for me. However, both your guide and my friend said that my name in katakana is needed for pick-up. I am confused about this part because I didn’t enter my name at any point during the online reservation process. Is my name needed ONLY for the pickup part? Like, is the only point of entering my name during pickup so that they can print out the ticket with my name on it? Or is my name somehow linked to my online reservation in some way? Thanks for the help!

      Hi Ina,

The name is connected with the type of online reservation. The first time I reserved, I made an account. For this, I did reserve and make an account. Then, I did not have to enter my name in katakana at the Loppy machine. I did not enter my name at any point during the reservation.
The second time, I tried out reserving without the account (I forgot my password XD) and then I had to enter my name in Katakana.

According to a user who commented here, there should be an option to enter the name in Romaji (our roman alphabet). In case you have any issues, feel free to ask the staff at the Lawson. They are very kind and helpful but their english might not be so good.

      Cheers, Riiko

I received other comments recently where people have issues using the credit card to reserve. It might be a general issue from their side, but I’m not sure what it might be.

Please make sure to allow all scripts and disable ad blocker in case you use it. Also double-check the CC number, valid to date and 3-digit code on the back of your card are all entered correctly.

      Dear Banni,

Yes, this is exactly how you should do it.
Reserve with CC, then pick it up any time before the reservation day. (Can pick up latest 3 or 4 h before the time slot, but better pick it up a day before latest, to be safe)

      I’ve received a few comments recently that their credit card wasn’t accepted. Would be great to know if it worked for you or not. It might be a general issue from their side, if everyone experiences issues with it ;_;

Have a lot of fun in Japan and the Eorzea Cafe!

Hi Riiko! Thanks for the response. :)

I tried yesterday, and I keep receiving this error (クレジット決済にてエラーが発生しました。 大変お手数ですが再度、お手続きください。) “Error on credit card settlement” or whatever. I’ve purchased something else on either of my 2 cc’s, and never experienced this problem. Then, I reserved with preordering items in Pokemon Cafe, and it was a breeze. This morning I received an error from one of my cc’s used (入力されたクレジットカード情報では受付できません。
        入力内容をご確認のうえ、正しく入力していただくか、他のカードへご変更ください。) “Can’t accept this credit card. Please try again, or use another” or something. Then I tried my other cc, and arrived on the first error message. I’m like crying in the inside. I tried to bug my friends in Japan but idk. ;u;

It seems that it’s on their side is the prob. I use my first cc to sub for my FFXIV. xD

That really sounds like they have an issue with their credit card system… :(

        When I checked last time, for Lawson pick up & paying, you have 3 or 4 days from the day you booked the reservation online to pick up the tickets. Booking on 21/03, pickup until 24/03. Please double-check with google translate to be sure, I’m at work at the moment with no possibility to check the website until late evening. >.<;

Maybe your friends in Japan would be nice enough to pick up the tickets for you and you pay them when you visit? >.<

Hmm it sounds more to me like at the moment, it’s pnly possible to reserve from April 16 to May 10 and not later. They might unlock May 11 and following days at a later day so that you can reserve a time slot. Is that right? At the moment, I can’t check the website. :(

Otherwise, when selecting to pay in cash, you have a few days after placing the reservation to pick the tickets up from the store. If you reserve with credit card (hope it works, ppl had issues with it lately), then you can pick it up until latest a few hours before your time slot.

Hi! So I just booked a slot for the square enix cafe tokyo, and I didn’t change the payment method, so I have to pay within 3-4 days of the day I booked the slot. However, my trip to Japan won’t be for another 3 weeks and I really don’t want to lose my slot as it’s completely sold out on the days that I am going. Is it possible to change the payment method after reserving the slot or is it unchangeable? If you could help me as soon as possible, it would be much appreciated as my reservation will be cancelled in just over 24 hours from when this comment was posted. Thank you very much!

      Hi there,
I have never booked a slot for the square enix cafe before, so I’m not sure how it works there. In eorzea cafe you have to pick up and pay the ticket at lawson or the slot is cancelled.. I assume that the se cafe is the same, but I can’t say for sure. I recommend checking the website our the email confirmation you received. Google translate could roughly help with it.

It works the same for SE cafe, yes! Unfortunately, I was unable to retrieve tickets from the Tokyo branch because of the KH3 collab being super popular. (I managed to get one from Osaka,) I can only recommend asking a proxy or someone living there to pick it up for you since it seems to require verification (JP phone number) in order for the account to accept a credit card or online payment methods from my understanding. Can’t confirm it but it seems like the case.
