Just a friend

So, my Weaver Guildmaster told me, I should go and make my weaving famous in Ishgard. Not like I was already famous there for crafting various other items, but he didn’t have to know everything.

He told me to use my affiliation with House Fortemps to make myself a name there.

So I walked through town to see if anyone needed some stitching.

Soon I found a young lady who was forced by her mom to become a weaver btu she actually wanted to be a chirurgeon – a White Mage.

I was all like: Why not both?!

Somehow, this was impossible for people of the land to have two jobs at the same time.

So she told me about her friend with whom she wanted to go out into battle and ensure that he wouldn’t die out there. Especially since he was a little clumsy.

Right, so this was her “friend”. Right.

I talked some courage into them and they agreed to openly talk to her mother about it.

Needless to say, the mother was furious.

But then, suddenly, she became calm and all understanding. She told her daughter for the first time about her husband. She had been a healer too, just like her daughter wanted to be now. And she had been fighting with her husband all along. But then…

It was a tragic past that had marked the mother for life. But protecting the child by forbidding them to follow their dreams is not an option. It’s not real protection. Real protection is to be skilled in your job and fighting with friends that you can rely on! ò.ó

And so, the young couple left town to follow their dreams.
