My journey from FFXI to FFXIV: ARR: Celebrating 2 years!

For the 2 year anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, they organized a very special event.

The quest could be started at the NPC Nonora.

She’s totally the little Lala Black Mage girl that Yoshida plays frequently on conventions! She seemed like a normal girl who was troubled by a bug problem O.o;

R’una and me went to check this out and defeat the army of allagan-looking bugs that were invading Thanalan.

By our side, a Wandering Minstrel. Who totally looked like Yoshida ò.ó;;

We fought sode by side like real heroes and defeated all the bugs.

Unfortunately, a bit later, a new wave of bugs appeared and we had to try to find a way how to stop them.

After discussing the issues, I was to check with some Wandering experts who were visiting Ul’dah. They had knowledge an experties and tried to help me investigate the bugs by working on the small metal plate I had taken from one of the bugs.

Somehow, it ended up in me carrying stuff around for these people!

One invited me to a drink at the tavern and I gladly accepted the glass of purest spring water.

These Wandering people seemed nice and helpful.

Reporting back to Nonora, she was happy I had some research result with which we would be able to stop the bugs from respawning.

The Wandering Minstrel played on his harp to thank me or something…

When suddenly everything became blurry in front of my eyes!

When I came to myself, I was in the Waking sands or something? Or was it the Rising thingy place in Mor Dhona?

It looked a bit like it…

When suddenly, a man approached me! He was tall and I was a bit scared.

He introduced himself as Yoshida and explained, we were in a different dimension than Eorzea.

I was like: Whaaat, so the story Chaosi told everyone was true, that he came from a dimension called Vana’diel?!

Turns out, Yoshida didn’t come from Vana’diel but from yet an other dimension.

All these people were working hard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our lives in Eorzea.

Were they something like gods? The Twelve? O.o

I had to investigate further.

They had vivid discussions. Were they talking about making Red Mage and Blue Mage available for us adventurers? O.O

Some were just drowning in work… or something…

Not sure what to say about this one…

I kinda didn’t feel like I was meeting gods to be honest.

These people seemed like normal people like you and me who were spending their whole day working on Eorzea!

There was a cool looking musician called Soken who had a young assistant by his side; and some birdies. Together, they seemed to think of some new song. I offered to sind something for them but they kinda ignored it… <.<;

They were also keeping Twintania for maintenance.

Somehow, I’m really worried.

Not about the dimensions but that Eorzea will be divebombed by an army of Twintanias…

Some say that this person here is giving a hint about a new Primal that could menace Eorzea soon.

I doubt they will implement a train as Primal really…

Some people were taking care of logistics…

After meeting all these people who were spending their time so differently, yet they seemed to be working on the same thing, I was curious what exactly was going on. So many people, so many names, so many tasks – yet I would imagine gods living quite differently. They can’t possibly be The Twelve, right?

Then, I found a door.

Okay… Was she really just kidding? <.<;

What was behind the door?
