Helping out in Coil T7 – I got this.

One fine day – everything was perfectly nice and normal – Lyssa approached me.

That could only mean bad news…

Did she receive a complaint about the grass floor I was secretly growing in the basement of our house? (preparation for my private room)

Did she dislike that I had not mention her in a while in my Blog?

Did she just need someone to stab?!

It was worse.

She invited me to her Coil static for one evening to try T7. As Jam didn’t have time on that day, they needed a White Mage replacement.

I felt honored and terrified at the same time.

It was me who had been chosen to join this truly hard endgame content battle. They would put their lives in my little hands! Trust my cures, my regen, my medica. Trust, that I would not stone them witht he frequent conal petrify attachs emerging from random people.

And then again… it was a hard Coil battle.

In the end, the feeling of honor won and with courage and confidence I joined the battle!

Little Lamia Medusa Lady awaited us in a frenzy dance.

The arena was really impressive.

Creatures were capruted in green liquid things that looked like batteries. The surroundings were pretty much ruins but they still glew and seemed to remain intact in their functionalities.

And so, we discussed the strategy.

It was pretty simple for me:

1) Aim the petrify conal away from the group and aim them on the Renaults.

2) Evade glowing ground stuff damage.

3) Heal everyone through the add phases and try not to have Medica 2 active to prevent hate.

4) Heal everyone.

5) Don’t die.

And so, it all began.

The first attempt was really smooth.

We ran in, attacked the Medusa and 3 people receoved the stone debuff, meaning, we would spit out a petrifying conal move when it wore off.

Extremely convinced the debuff was not on me, I faced the tanks and dps and proceeded to heal.

That was when suddenly – like 10 seconds into the fight – a conal area formed in front of me, petrifying everyone in it. Which was like half the group.

Did I forget to mention, when you’re petrified and get hit by anything, you instantly die?

Yeah, you do.

It was a great and embarassing start. Now, it could only get better.

And it did!

We managed the mechanics really well.

(Please ignore all the dead bodies in the screenshots. They were just pretending to be dead to confuse the enemies!)

No problem.

I got this.

As we totally rocked the place (stoned -> rocked, get it? lololol), I also had the honor to tank several enemies at once!

This doesn’t happen very often.

Failing to defeat Medusa repeatedly lead us to our last resort.

We had to summon the true powers of Vis.

As Vis obtained his true powers, he proceeded to dance and tried to become friends with Medusa.

His powers were completely useless to this fight as Medusa just laughed and slayed him.

2014-07-07 Second Coil T7 07

As we left the battlefield in order to postpone the fight to another day, we met the other Coil Static.

Happily, I welcomed everyone.

So many expert highlevel elite adventurers around me!

And they didn’t seem to mind little Riiko being among them.

Did… did I finally grow up?!!

Happy with the result of the day, I had learned a lot about me and about my expert friends who always seemed more pro than they really are.

Is a very hard fight for healers… as Main Battle Tank, it is my job to call out who has voice and shriek, but apparently I have an ignorable voice so this doesn’t always go so well. Fortunately I often /panic and then my voice is more noticeable, but also distracting… Quite often people shoot others with their stonecones, or, only slightly less bad, hit Melly. Unlike me who dies with one hit when I’m hit but have a relaxed attitude, Melly gets angry and her damage becomes worse… I properly stand in front of whoever stoneconed her and take the damage myself though. I will always protect my comrade-friends!

Luckily it is the Buttscooters job to call out ‘Petrification’ from Melly’s little pet minion, but, later, the minion combines with Melly so she can become her ultimate form, and then when she does ‘Pet’ it is once more the job of my ignorable voice to call it…

Then, after Melly, there is the Avatar who always beats us…

      Melly is realy evil, especially the friends she summons! @.@;
You protect your friends well – I expected nothing less from you! Then again, I totally understand that you panic at times. A small lala tanking the gigantic Melly is a huge task!

I must say though that I kept rather calm and I could handle the stonecones rather well. ò.óV Once, Alix and me got hit by our tank’s stonecone – just us two! I think, Rei was angry at us that we didn’t heal well enough so she punished us T_T

Ofc I would never punish Nef, except to shower her with kisses. I have a variety of ways and means to make Trem suffer /nod. Most recently, I have been shooting him with my reliable mechachoco-companion…

Well my choco always wanted a clutchmate, and my magitek was lonely not being with his Garlean siblings, so… Ofc it is very important to me that they are happy! I used to ride Coeurl a lot, but she wanted to be a mother so we adopted a little kit together and she spends most of her time caring for him. So now, Chocobo! And for shooting Trem, Mecha-chocobo!

Keep up the good work! It is indeed a hard fight. My group still has yet to finish it, we keep yelling at each other and turning one another to stone…I feel like we should all take anger management classes (including Melly). The fight would probably be a lot more pleasant, like maybe a tea party?

Thank you! Lyssa’s group also hasn’t beat her I think and I haven’t seen her fall either. She’s a tough one! @.@;; But then again, with her hundredthousands of HP, who would not be tough to kill… hehehee :D

Anger management sounds like a solution. Maybe we can calm Melly’s temper down and just talk about things like reasonable adults. ò_ó; And then take her high allagan clothes!!

You can tell how far in the fight we are by how loud Akhe gets. When petrifaction gets added to the boss he’s almost shouting. We’ve cleared it 3 or 4 times now, but it is always messy. Somehow we completely lucked out with last run as both the healers and the tanks were petrified by nameless individuals. Fun fight! And yes Akhe often shots me with his magitek. I’m currently trying to make friends with the magitek so it will refuse to attack me on Akhe’s orders. This is a work in progress however.

Just a little update, my group managed to down t7 and I got double monk drops! Anger management classes really did help :D Once we stopped yelling at each other and started collectively yelling at Melly, everything worked out.
